What your town gets
Everything your town needs, and nothing you’ll have to fight with.
Every part of the site is built for busy volunteers. For each one, here’s what you do and what happens on its own.
What’s on
One list of everything happening in town: matches, markets, meetings, sessions and clean-ups. Anyone can send in an event from their phone.
What volunteers do
- Check new events and approve them with one tap.
- Turn down anything that isn’t right for the site.
What’s automatic
- Events appear on the home page and in the calendar.
- Past events tidy themselves away.
- Upcoming events go into the monthly newsletter.
Business & club directory
Businesses, clubs and services, sorted into categories people can search and filter. We load up to 100 listings for you at the start.
What volunteers do
- Approve a new listing or a change when one comes in.
What’s automatic
- Owners can claim their listing and update their own hours, phone and photos.
- Listings show on a map and in search.
Town news
Short posts with a photo or two. As easy as posting on Facebook, but they stay put and people can find them later.
What volunteers do
- Write a few lines and add a photo, from your phone if you like.
What’s automatic
- The latest news shows on the home page.
- Posts can be shared to your Facebook page.
Getting here
Bus timetables, parking, accessible routes and a map, all on one page.
What volunteers do
- Check it once a year, or when the bus times change.
What’s automatic
- Works on any phone, with tap-to-open directions.
Visit
Walks, heritage, and places to eat and stay. The page you’d want to send a visitor or a returning cousin.
What volunteers do
- Set it up once with us, then add to it when something new opens.
What’s automatic
- Places to eat and stay are pulled from the directory, so there’s nothing to keep in two places.
Your town’s plan & projects
A public board of your town’s projects, from Tidy Towns to Town Centre First to your community plan. Each one has a status, photos, the funder and the year. It shows funders and adjudicators what’s been done.
What volunteers do
- Add a project, move it from “planned” to “done”, and add a photo.
What’s automatic
- Projects are sorted by status and year.
- A tidy record builds up over time, ready for your next application.
Have your say
Short resident surveys, and a “report an issue” form for litter, broken lights or potholes. Reports land in the committee inbox.
What volunteers do
- Read the reports and pass them on to the right people.
- Pick the questions for a survey. We can help.
What’s automatic
- Reports arrive by email with the location and details.
- Survey answers are counted for you.
Volunteer
A simple sign-up form where people say what they’d help with: litter picks, events, planting and more.
What volunteers do
- Get in touch with the people who sign up.
What’s automatic
- New sign-ups go straight to the committee inbox, sorted by interest.
Newsletter
A monthly email to residents, built from what’s on and the latest news. People sign up on the site.
What volunteers do
- Read over the draft, add a line if you want, and press send.
What’s automatic
- The draft builds itself from upcoming events and recent news.
- Sign-ups and unsubscribes are handled for you.
Gaeilge
Bilingual page titles and place names come as standard. Full Irish versions of pages are available too.
What volunteers do
- Send us the Irish wording you use locally, or let us suggest it.
What’s automatic
- Irish titles and place names appear across the site.
Under the bonnet
Every town site runs on the same well-tested template, set up with your own name, colours, logo and content. When we fix something or add a feature, every town gets it.
Sites are fast, work well on older phones, and are hosted for free. There are no tracking cookies by default.
Let’s talk about your town.
